“On Location: Voices and Perspectives on War and Peace from Israeli, West Bank and Gaza Residents”
On May 23rd at 6pm at the Tomahawk United Methodist Church Rev. Forrest will be giving an overview and perspective on the region. Forrest Wells recently returned from the Middle East where he participated in the interviewing of 14 people/groups both Jewish and Palestinian from various and conflicting perspectives. He will unpack some of the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and give current perspectives gained from his visit after the October 7th Hamas attack and the resulting Gaza war. The presentation will also include opportunity for group conversation and questions.
The general format of the evening will include:
· A historical Overview of the birth of the modern nation of Israel
· “What is Truth?” Understanding the complexities of the current reality in the words of people living there
· Prospects for Peace- Optimism or wishful thinking
· Q&A and group conversation
